Service Description

The Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) test is a key diagnostic and monitoring tool used to evaluate your average blood sugar levels over the past 2–3 months. Unlike a single glucose reading, this test provides a long-term view of how your body is managing blood sugar. It measures the amount of glucose attached to hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells, offering a reliable indicator of overall glucose control. This test is essential for identifying early signs of prediabetes, diagnosing type 2 diabetes, and monitoring existing diabetes to ensure proper management and treatment effectiveness. This test includes: Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) – Measures the percentage of glucose attached to red blood cells Reflects average blood sugar levels over approximately 3 months Helps detect prediabetes and diagnose diabetes Supports ongoing monitoring and treatment adjustments Why this test matters: This test plays a critical role in evaluating long-term blood sugar control, risk for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, effectiveness of diabetes management plans, and overall metabolic health.
